Portal in Minecraft, reimagined

Welcome to PortalMod, a project aiming to reimagine the Portal experience in Minecraft.

You might be wondering if there aren't already Portal mods for Minecraft. While technically yes, we don't think any mods that have been created before have aimed for a fully polished look and feel. We are trying to create an experience that feels authentic to Minecraft, similar to how a new official update to the game may be. Besides just adding elements from the Portal franchise, we want to make sure they fully fit into the game.

The mod will incorporate new advancements to help the player think with portals, as well as full survival compatibility. It will also support multiplayer, allowing you to create, build, and solve test chambers with your friends!

Release Date

The mod releases April 18th!

We too can't wait for the release of the mod, to see what you will be creating with it. Until then, you can stay updated and chat with others in our Discord Server.

Specifics

Minecraft version
Java Edition 1.16.5, for the time being. Once the mod has been released, we will work on updating it to the latest version.

Mod loader
Forge for now. Perhaps future versions will use Fabric.

Open source
Minecraft Portal mods are unfortunately very prone to plagiarism, especially when they have been in development for a long time. PortalMod will therefore sadly not be open-source until the release.

Contributing
We are currently looking for translators, especially for less popular languages! If you would like to help translate the mod, you can fill in this form to apply. We can't guarantee that you will get picked though, as some languages already have a lot of translators.
